MOVING ELECTRONICS IN COLD WEATHER
TVs / PCs / Audio Video Equipment: Condensation caused by extreme temperature changes can wreak havoc
on the high tech circuitry of todays electronics. PCs, VCRs, TVs, stereos, etc. must acclimate to room temperature for
at least 24 hours prior to connecting the equipment to AC power.
Grandfather Clocks: Freezing temperatures cause the oil in the pivot points to gum up. Delicate metal components
will contract and restrict operation of moving parts in the mechanism. Attempting to set up clocks on delivery day in cold
weather will usually result in a second service call. The clock should be allowed to reach room temperature before
setting the mechanism in beat.
ELECTRONICS - MOVING PREPARATION
TVs/PCs/Audio Video Equipment: Many TVs are now flat screen plasma or LCD HDTVs. These TVs require special preparation for relocation. Most often your mover will make arrangements of your behalf to have the TVs crated or placed into TV Armour Containers. This service is performed by a Third Party Service Company whose charges will show on your relocation bill. The Third Party Service company are specialist in this area of relocation. If you decide that you do not want to incur the additional cost for properly preparing your TV's for relocation, your mover will not accept responsibility if there is any damage to the TVs either visual or mechanical.
It is your responsibility to disconnect all audio video equipment prior to the arrival of the Third Party Service Specialist. If you would prefer that the Specialist perform the disconnect, there is an extra charge for this service . Your mover will not reconnect these items in your new home. It is your responsibility to reconnect these items or ask your mover to make arrangements for the Third Party Specialist to take care of this for you. Be mindful of the "Cold Weather" warning when you reconnect your audio video equipment.
